As reported in today's Gazzettino, Riccardo Muti and l'Orchestra della Fenice conducted a rehearsal in La Fenice yesterday. It was the first time music had performed there in over 7 years. It was an extremely emotional moment for the orchestra, as can be imagined. For the record, the selections were Die Weihe des Hauses (Beethoven) and Kaisermarsch (Wagner).
How were the acoustics? Muti sounded a little muted: "sounds good to me", was all he said. We'll get the official word from golden ear acoustical critics next week, I'm sure.
